Sitting Without Strain

Stenning Active-Balance Ergonomic Office Chairs

"As a physiotherapist I can highly recommend the Stenning "Active-Balance" Office Chair. It is a unique chair that gives useful proprioceptive information to the body when sitting and thereby helps maintain a healthy sitting posture. The staff at my clinic use the chair at the reception desk and I never hesitate to recommend the chair to my patients." - Bjarne Kragh, Physiotherapist

"... the best back support of any chair I have seen...also very easy to rise from."
Dr M Fraval, Osteopath

"I really didn't realise how comfortable it was until I got back in my old chair...I would certainly suggest anyone who spends a lot of their day sitting at a desk should try this chair for themselves."
Dr S. G., General Practitioner

"I can work for longer periods without back or neck pain. The adjustability is also really useful."
Ms E Kormos, Heritage Consultant

Simple, elegant and effective, designed to make it easy to remain comfortable and productive at your desk...

Designed by teachers of the Alexander Technique, experts in good body-use, to help prevent

  • overuse injuries
  • back problems
  • other problems associated with long sitting and computer use, and
  • to assist in rehabilitation for those who have injuries.

The "Active-Balance" Office Chair is designed to make sitting easier, and less effort. It's design takes account of, and facilitates
  • how we maintain our upright attitude;
  • how we breathe; and
  • how we move.

Fifteen years' experience of helping a wide variety of people, who have suffered work-related injury such as neck or lower-back problems, shoulder tension, or a range of overuse injuries, has shown in the most practical way what works and what does not, what is effective and what is not. This experience lies behind the design of the Stenning "Active-Balance" Office Chair.
