Application process for overseas students wishing to undertake our training course
School for F.M. Alexander Studies Cricos Provider Code 02438J - Einstein's Moon Pty Ltd VIC21928 Advanced Diploma of Alexander Technique Teaching
This is our procedure for enrolling students in our course. We apologise for the cumbersome nature of process but we are constrained by Australian government legislation to follow this process for any students who will be studying in Australia on a student visa.
1. Once an inquiry is received the school will send out an application form.
2. Student fills in application form and returns that to us.
3. Students for whom English is a second language will also need to provide proof of English language proficiency. IELTS 5.5 in academic English or a TOEFL score of 50 is the minimum acceptable to enrol in the course. On induction to the course you will need to provide us with your original IELTS certificate which we will copy and then return to you
4. If the application is approved, the school will send a copy of the contract which you will need to sign. You may indicate your agreement to the contract by email and provide us with the signed contract via post or at the induction session at the school.
5. Along with this contract acceptance you will provide us with a $600 application fee. This fee will be deducted from the first term’s fees, but is not refundable if the student does not start the course for any reason other than failure to be granted a student visa. Government regulations forbid us from accepting any payment prior to the student accepting the contract.
6. Once your signed contract and application fee is received we will generate an Electronic Confirmation of Enrolment in PRISMS, the Australian Immigration Department web-site, which will allow the student to apply immediately for a student visa.
7. At that time we will also provide you with a password to access the student section of the web-site and add you to our email mailing list for newsletters and other information.
8. The signed agreement includes the obligation for you to take out Overseas Students Health Cover while you are studying in Australia. Once you have your visa you will need to take out this health cover and provide the school with a copy of your policy before you commence the course. Enrolment in the course is conditional on this coverage being taken out and maintained.
9. Prior to the first day of the course we shall schedule an induction session. This session will take about 90 minutes.
Students wishing to transfer from another training school
Students wishing to transfer from a school recognised by AUSTAT will need to make a strong and compelling case for their wish to transfer and we will need to ensure that they have a strong recommendation from the director of their existing course. We will also need a letter from the director indicating hours of study completed and an indication of your progress in completing the course.
Students already on a student visa wishing to join our course from another provider
In the case of students already in Australia on a student visa with another provider and who has been studying with that provider for less than 6 months, they will be required to get a letter of release from that provider in order to change couses. In such a case the student will need firstly to get a letter of offer from us accepting his enrolment in the course, subject to the letter of release being provided.
