Julianne Eveleigh Dip Act UK. Grad Dip ED & T. Cert 4. LSDA. AUSTAT Julianne has been working as a voice and speech specialist for the past 16 years. Her work focuses on the dynamic relationship between vocal and physical expression. She believes that the voice does not operate in isolation from the mind and body and she is particularly interested in exploring and developing these subtle connections with her students. Julianne is currently teaching voice at the National Theatre Drama School on the Diploma of Arts (Acting) program. Her interest in working with the embodied voice led her to embark on a three year Alexander Technique Training course. In 2005, Julianne qualified as an Alexander Technique teacher from the School for F M Alexander Studies in Melbourne. The Alexander Technique teaches students how to become conscious of the way they use themselves in their daily lives. It is a practical method through which they can learn how to reduce stress by releasing unnecessary tension. Lessons in the technique show students how to combat habitual patterns of use that interfere with their co ordination. As they learn to let go of unnecessary tension, their ability to enjoy life increases. She has recently set up an Alexander Technique Studio in St Kilda where people can be re-educated in the use of their voice and selves through a series of one-on-one private lessons.
