Vivien is well known as a senior Alexander teacher and musician. She has studied the Alexander Technique with Walter Carrington & the cello with Pablo Casals. She has been teaching the technique for over 30 years.
She was director of the Melbourne Trinity College Alexander Teacher Training Course, which ran a single three-year teacher training course for musicians from 1990 to 1992, and also of the first Australian Training Course in Sydney from 1982 – 1985. Vivien now travels widely running courses at a range of training schools and orchestras throughout the world.
Vivien is the author of "Just Play Naturally", an account of her cello study with Pablo Casals and the discovery of the resonance between his teaching and the principles of the Alexander Technique. This book is available for sale at the school.
Vivien will also be offering private Alexander lessons at the school between 1st and 13th February.
