The region surrounding our Residential location, Maitripa, has been experiencing the worst of the fires recently. It's situated just south of Kinglake and Marysville, both of which were hit hard. We have not recieved word from Maitripa, but there are confirmed and lives lost in the region. We'll keep you posted on the blog as we find out more.

Update history follows. Please see latest blog post for the latest news.

Update: This region map (2am 9/1) from the department of sustainability and environment doesn't look too good. Canberra times reports at 11am today that Kinglake complex fire is ongoing - however, it is now heading north (Maitripa is to the south) - you can see this on the region map (you can see Maitripa on Google Maps on our residential info page)

Latest info can be found at http://www.dse.vic.gov.au/fire, but please download the maps from our site.

Update 2: At this stage, it looks like we won't be going to Maitripa. We'll send out an email when a decision has been made.
