Introduction to the Alexander Technique
with David Moore (Director of the School and author of Smart Yoga: Apply the Alexander Technique to Enhance Your Practice, Prevent Injury, and Increase Body Awareness)
Sunday 30th January, 10am to 1pm
Come to this workshop to see whether you would like to learn the Alexander technique. This workshop will cover the basic principles of the Alexander Technique from a practical perspective.
The Alexander Technique is an approach to the study of movement. It helps you to eliminate unnecessary tension while learning to move in an easier, more effective way through daily activities. Led by the director of the School for FM Alexander Studies, David Moore, this workshop will explore the basic principles of the Alexander Technique from a practical perspective, and how they can be used to develop ease in everything you do.
We will look at how participants use their bodies in sitting, standing and walking. We will also look at activities with which people may have particular difficulties such as working at a keyboard, writing, playing an instrument or a whole range of everyday activities. By the end of the morning, you will have an understanding of the basics of the Alexander Technique and how you can use it to improve your performance and prevent discomfort and injury in everyday activities.
CAN'T MAKE IT TO THIS WORKSHOP? WHY NOT BOOK A PRIVATE LESSON AT A SUITABLE TIME?
